Waikato Badminton is a not-for-profit organisation that develops, promotes and governs the sport of badminton within Waikato.

Waikato Badminton has a proud history of delivering programmes and activities from grassroots through to high performance.


Board Member Role

The Waikato Badminton Association Board is responsible for:

  • Setting strategic direction
  • Ensuring financial sustainability
  • Managing resources effectively

Board roles are voluntary, and meetings are held 6 weekly (in person).

We are seeking two new Board members. Across these positions, we welcome applications from individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Community development
  • Business management
  • Community sport
  • Revenue generation
  • Marketing/media

If you’re passionate about contributing to a small but vibrant organisation with a long history of delivering quality badminton experiences in the community sport sector across Waikato, this is an opportunity to make a real impact.


Ideal Candidate

We are looking for people who will strengthen our governance capability and bring diverse skills and perspectives to the Board table. Ideally candidates will:

  • Have governance experience (highly preferred)
  • Have knowledge and experience in community, sports and/or not-for-profit organisations
  • Have a desire to make a difference
