Vantage Black Sticks - Women’s Assistant Coach

Hockey New Zealand’s vision is to be the World’s Best Hockey Nation. Affiliated to the International Hockey Federation (FIH) the Vantage Black Sticks Women’s National Team is New Zealand’s pinnacle High Performance Women’s hockey team and represents New Zealand Hockey at all targeted international events.

Quality coaching is fundamental to the success of the Women’s National Team. This full time coaching role is designed to support the National Programme targeting Tokyo 2021 and the Commonwealth Games and World Cup in 2022. The purpose of this role is to work closely with the Head Coach to assist the development of the performance capacity of the Black Stick’s Women’s team and supporting the National Programme.

This key role will be focused on individual and team coaching, planning and monitoring, daily performance environments and contribution to the leadership, planning and development of the Women’s high performance programme overall.

To be considered for this role, you will have:
• A detailed and systematic approach to achieving High Performance outcomes
• Knowledge of international trends and current game developments
• Experience of holistic athlete development in a coaching capacity
• Experience building and managing trusted relationships with others
• Experience and proven capability in the holistic development of athletes and programmes
• Strong initiative and problem solving ability
