The Community Activation Fund supports community-led projects in a responsive and needs- based way. It’s designed to be flexible and accessible, with applications accepted year-round. Our team works closely with applicants throughout the process, providing hands-on support and acting as key contacts to ensure each project is well understood and appropriately resourced. |
The Fast Fund is a flexible, rapid-response funding initiative designed by Sport Waikato to support school-based projects. With minimal administration and a quick turnaround, this fund empowers Sport Waikato staff to respond to immediate, grassroots opportunities identified in schools across the region. |

This fund is primarily for not-for-profit organisations. For-profit entities are not excluded, but their applications will undergo rigorous vetting to ensure they align with the fund’s purpose and criteria. | Sport Waikato staff identify and recommend projects. Eligible projects must be school-based, specifically within Primary, Intermediate, or Secondary Schools. |

Funding levels are determined through a thorough assessment process conducted by Sport Waikato staff in collaboration with the applicant. |
Each project may receive up to $5,000 in funding, with a limit of two *live applications per school within a financial year. *A 'live application' refers to: applications that have been submitted, are being assessed, have been approved or are in the delivery or reporting phase. |

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis from 1st July to 30th June each financial year. We aim to review applications regularly to ensure timely decisions and support. |

The fund is designed to help subsidise rural travel for junior teams aged between 5-19 years. It helps school and club sports teams participate in local sporting competitions.
