I joined Sport Waikato in early 2014 in a Community Sport Programme Support role and in December 2016 moved to the newly established Planning and Insights Adviser role. In 2017 I became Team Leader of the Strategic Projects team. In 2020 the role was renamed as Insights and Evaluation Lead.
I was born and bred in the Waikato, and have been involved as a participant in various sports and recreation activities throughout my life. My strengths lie in the interpretation of information into useable and straight forward summaries or graphical representations (insights) and I strongly feel that it is crucial to keep staff and all key stakeholders informed of the latest trends in sport, recreation and physical activity. I have a strong technical background that includes report writing, statistical analysis and presentation of data and am passionate about the role of insights in the sector.
My role focuses on providing research and insights to guide strategic decisions to stakeholders and partners in the delivery of participant experiences and has expanded to include monitoring and insights - namely the establishment of a monitoring and evaluation framework for Sport Waikato in all its practices. To me, evaluation should be incorporated at every stage of a project or initiative.
