Sharon is looking forward to working with the squash clubs in the Waikato region, bringing ideas from a grassroots perspective. She is also excited about taking the Microcourt programme to schools and introducing young people to the great game of squash. Squash Waikato’s mission is ”to promote, foster and develop squash in the greater Waikato region through a coordinated and professional approach.” Their geographical area covers from Huntly and the Corromandel to Matamata and Taumarunui. Please visit the Squash Waikato website at www.squashwaikato.co.nz. Why Play Squash?

Is your school interested in the Squash Microcourt Programme? The Perspex court is available to schools in the Ngaruawahia and Cambridge areas in Term 3. The MicroCourt Programme is designed to introduce the game of Squash to children between the ages of 8 years to 13 years old. How it Works: The court stays at each school for a week and is delivered on a Monday morning when we run a full days coaching for teachers and students. We then leave the court along with 32 racquets and 32 balls at the school so that the school can make use of it. It may be useful to find school parents who play Squash to come along and help with the programme or to contact the local Squash Club. At the end of the Term we will arrange a Tournament at the local Squash Club for the schools to send their top two boys and top two girls as a team to represent their school.
What is Needed: What does it Cost: To make a booking, or for further information please contact Sharon Hema on 07 858 5388 or sharonh@sportsforce.org.nz . Events & Courses
