Gilly Alexander works across the Waikato region assisting sports clubs and Regional Sporting Organisations to help with the needs of the sporting community with a wide range of support and advice including organisational development, governance, planning, sustainable funding and working with sport infrastructure providers such as councils.
Her focus is on Community Sport Partnerships and how clubs can operate more effectively and efficiently. Community Sport Partnerships are about encouraging collective good-practice across the sporting sector and can be two clubs sharing an administrator or a group of clubs coming together under one roof.
Sport Waikato realise that sport codes are facing varied challenges including dropping memberships and increasing costs. A network will be established for groups to access resources and have discussions with others facing similar challenges.
Gilly also drives the Sport Maker programme throughout the organisation thanking our sporting volunteers from around the region.
