My background...
I moved to Hamilton to attend Hamilton Teachers College and completed a Bachelor of Education at the University of Waikato. My first teaching position was in Taupo and I have never looked back – have been here for 25 years. I have worked at a variety of Taupo schools and have just finished at Wairakei Primary School as the Assistant Principal and the sports coordinator to take up my new and exciting role with Sport Waikato..

Increase the participation levels of children in sport and the range of sports available to school children. I look forward to improving the linkages between the schools, sports clubs and other community groups in Taupo. It will be great to meet some new faces in the Waikato region.

Favourite sport/physical activity...
I have been involved in sport since a young age and now enjoy participating in half marathons. I have 10 year old twins who participate in many sporting activities and are involved in a variety of clubs and spend many hours supporting and encouraging children on the side-line. I do have a passion for the outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of taking a party of over a hundred across the Tongariro Alpine Crossing in March 2011.
