LOCOMOTION SKILLS
Exploring the skills required to develop large motor skills - walk, run, hop, jump and skip. This workshop will give practical activities and games to make the learning of these skills fun.
Each workshop will be 1 ½ hours and we hold these workshops outside of centre hours. These are suitable for both Early Childhood Educators and New Entrant teachers
Locomotive movement is one of the 7 fundamental skills we would hope children have mastered prior to beginning school. Each workshop covers some of the fundamentals of gymnastic movement from Play Gym – an early childhood philosophy which assists in the development of children under five years. |

MANIPULATIVE SKILLS
This is a practical workshop using small hand apparatus with movement patterns to aid manipulative skill development. These activities are essential for hand-eye, feet-eye and body-eye co-ordination; grip strength and coordination skills useful for learning, sports and performing arts. (These are often referred to as fine motor skills).
Each workshop will be 1 ½ hours and we hold these workshops outside of centre hours. These are suitable for both Early Childhood Educators and New Entrant teachers

ROTATION SWING
A practical workshop that gives lots of activities for spinning, rolling, twisting, and swinging without a bar. You will learn about the developmental importance of rotation and swing in developing the vestibular system of balance and spatial awareness.
Each workshop will be 1 ½ hours and we hold these workshops outside of centre hours. These are suitable for both Early Childhood Educators and New Entrant teachers

LANDING AND STATICS
This workshop explores the skill of safely landing on different parts of the body when breaking movement or balance in a static or stationary position. This workshop will give practical activities and games to make the learning of these skills fun. Includes an introduction to landings and statics (balance) and an understanding of the development of body management in young children.
Each workshop will be 1 ½ hours and we hold these workshops outside of centre hours. These are suitable for both Early Childhood Educators and New Entrant teachers
