Programme Overview

The ACE Swimming Club was established to assist and foster the development of competitive swimming. ACE has a rich history of developing talented athletes - former Olympic and Commonwealth Games swimmer Alison Fitch was an ACE swimmer in the 1990's and continues to support the club as a life member.

The focus of the coaches and swimmers is to strive for and attain a high level of success in competitive swimming. We cater for a wide range of ages starting from the age of 6/7 depending on ability, with fully qualified coaches to support and develop the swimmers to achieve their potential. We also cater for water polo players, triathletes and slightly older swimmers that no longer wish to compete but want to retain a good level of fitness.

Our club is based at Waterworld, Te Rapa and we train all year round in a heated indoor pool under our Head Coach, Paul Downey. All swimmers must be affiliated to the Ace Swimming Club in order to receive the benefits of the club, and to comply with the New Zealand Swimming Federation.
