Bio
Rachael Dean joined the Sport Waikato Board of Trustees in 2011.
A Chartered Accountant, former Certified Internal Auditor and current member of the IOD, Rachael has spent the past 10 years along with her husband, as an owner-operator under both limited company and partnership business structures, in England and New Zealand. She gained a lot of experience in the meat export and heavy industry sectors before moving to England where she worked throughout England and Europe as a business consultant, systems analyst, also installing and project managing SAP installations.
Rachael has held governance positions as a Health Board Member, as a City Councillor in New Zealand and a Borough Councillor in England. She has recently completed four years on the board of Diving New Zealand plus is Vice President of Rural Woman New Zealand Waipa King Country Provincial.
She is also the author of a New Zealand history books From the "Other End of the World".
Rachael has participated – mostly at a social level - in a wide range of sports including rowing, and currently combines cycling, jogging and circuit training for general fitness. She also trains for beach volleyball at the Lake Karapiro sand courts.
